Talk by Prof. Nikos Stergiopulos: From Lab to Market
Prof. Nikos Stergiopulos, co-founder of EndoArt in 1998, a medical device company with world leader position in telemetric implants for congenital heart disease and obesity, will give a talk entitled “The Role of The Academic Lab in The Development of Frontline and Clinically-Relevant Medical Technologies”.

Prof. Nikos Stergiopulos studied Mechanical Engineering at the National Technical University of Athens, Greece and obtained his Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from Iowa State University in 1990. His research interests are Hemodynamics, Cardiovascular Mechanics and Medical Implant Technology. He has authored more than 140 publications and holds more than 15 patents in medical technology. He co-founded EndoArt, world leader in telemetric implants for the treatment of congenital heart disease and morbid obesity, Antlia SA, developer of implantable drug delivery pumps and Rheon Medical, developer of the implantable shunt for the surgical treatment of glaucoma.
